Having the MTV Video Music Award's last month was extremely beneficial, as I am able to take inspiration from music videos that won certain awards, and apply them to ideas I am forming for the music video I am going to create.
The 'Video of The Year' award went to Taylor Swift's music video 'Bad Blood'. Reasons as to why a filmmaker can take inspiration from this was because of the storyline of the music video, as it grips the audience and makes them want to carry on watching. I want to try and replicate this with the music video that I will create, as I want my audience to enjoy and carry on watching the video.
Editing is also something filmmakers need to pay close attention too, as editing to the beat of the music is crucial in making a successful music video. Beyonce's music video to the song '7/11' won the 'Best Editing' award. This was because everything was perfectly in time, and all the shots moved smoothly from one to another. Again, I am taking inspiration from this and am going to edit to the beat as best as I can, and create smooth transitions for my music video.
