Below shows a screenshot of the final edit of the music video for 'Fall Down'. The image shows various different editing skills, including:
Below shows a video of the ident that I created to play before the start of the music video. This introduces the record label company, the name of the artist and the name of the music video. A radio tuning sound plays in the background suggesting a retro feel, which demonstrates elements of the indie pop genre. The same font of the artist name 'Millie' is the same font used for the artists name on the front cover of the digipak and the magazine advertisement poster, creating continuity between all three products and enhancing the brand of the artist. After taking my Media Studies class' feedback into consideration for my first cut of the music video, I created a second cut of the music video, taking onboard their points. I decided to show to a group of people at my school this second cut, in my schools auditorium to gain their feedback. This way I know how an actual audience would react to the music video rather than just my Media Studies class who may be bias. Below shows a video of my presenting the project to the audience, asking them questions after the showing on their thoughts and receiving their feedback. After receiving this audience feedback I came to various conclusions.
1. I need to make the storyline of the music video easier to follow. 2. I need to work on the colour correction of some of the shots, so that the whole video matches. 3. I am going to create a second music video whereby the song is cut down by taking out a chorus and the first bridge so that the video will not lose energy and I can use the best shots rather than including random filler shots. After editing together the first cut of my music video, I asked the rest of my Media Studies class to watch it and give me feedback and constructive criticism. Some of the constructive criticism included:
Below shows a series of screenshots from the editing process of the music video. I have included annotations at the top briefly explaining what is happening.
Before I started to edit together the music video I put together a short rushes video including some of the best unedited clips. The video shows the variety of shot types and movements that I used.

For the second day of shooting, I vlogged the day which included preparing for the day, shooting in the different locations and importing the footage.
Below shows a video I created using a "Aputure Amaran Halo Light".
I did this to show the difference between using a simple lighting piece of equipment vs. no lighting. Because the piece of equipment is so simple, it will be a lot easier to use during filming as I am going to various different locations and will need something light and easy to take with me rather than 3 point lighting. The video also shows an element of editing to the beat of music. I did this to practise my editing skills for the final music video. |
