Below shows a video I created showing the different shot types, and an explanation of why I did this task.
Transcript: In preparation for my main task I thought that I would practice shot types and create this test footage before I start to create my storyboard. Obviously the location of this footage and the actor both have no relevance to my final product. I have included various shot types and camera movements that I am planning on using in my music video.
The video also includes a dolly shot, whereby I placed the camera on an office chair and pushed a chair across the flat surface. Other techniques I used using household items to create a successful shot included tying a rubber band around the handle of a tripod and pulling the band in one direction, to create a pan. Techniques like this come in extreme use when you don’t have the money to pay for expensive equipment. Some other techniques are shown in this video from Film Riot below, which I plan on using in my music video
